I give Adrian 5 Stars because he really is as good as it gets! He is responsible for all of the wonderful compliments I get on my hair cut and color on a daily basis. He is the master at creating cuts with style, not cuts that need to be styled. For years he has been the artist behind my hair color and understands the nuances of how to work with color that always results in the perfect shade of red. I can't forget to mention how in love I am with his online appointment system. 24/7 I can hop online and view his availability and match it with my schedule. Such a perk!

Adrian is color-incredible! I was lucky enough to find him about 1.5 yrs ago & eagerly keep coming back. The very first time I went in, I described what I thought I was looking for when Adrian says: "Let me tell you what I thought as I saw you from across the room". How awesome is that?! Someone who has a vision! Style & color combinations I never dreamed possible! I trusted his creativity & it paid off in a major way...I felt sassy, flirty, and that people would hate me b/c I was beautiful...TONS of compliments about how great my hair looked.

I will also confirm others' statements that Adrian does spend time w/ his clients & I see that as a definite plus. If he's running late --- I think, "so what", b/c I know he's going to be providing the same dedication & attention to me & my needs & it's totally worth a few minutes wait --- have a coffee or a glass of wine & relax. This is not a assembly line - it's a salon & things take time. The place is fun & laid back, lots of people chatting, laughing & no rushing - so know that when you go in & be prepared to join the flow.

Adrian will take the time he needs to talk w/ you so that he can understand you as a person, find out what kind of person you are, how adventurous you are willing to be w/ your hair color & make sure you are comfortable w/ the direction you have discussed before getting out any materials.

The best thing is that he'll take your original ideas & build on them to develop something you never would have thought of & it looks absolutely fantastic. I have never been disappointed & you won't be either!

Adrian Ewell is amazing. As usual I waited until the last minute then had to scramble because my usual stylist was out. I lucked into an appointment with Adrian, who gave me a great cut and highlight. He listened, took time to understand my love/hate relationship with my hair and I am incredibly happy. I am a bitter biddy when it comes to my thick, shaggy, coarse hair. I usually regret most haircuts at outrageous prices and foofy venues with holier-than-thou stylists that give me stupid lectures without understanding anything about my type of hair (hello, Chakra Aveda Salon!). Lots of times, I have ended up waiting a year until 'it' grows out and I can bring myself to venture out to try someone new. No more. Adrian is a master stylist, he's at the top of his game and continues to keep up on the newest products and techniques. I've never had more beautiful hair, the color is perfect, exactly what I wanted. He really listens to his clients and has the expertise to give you what your heart desires. You'll leave the salon floating on air.

My hair was overprocessed, unhealthy and needed a complete rework. After a detailed consult with Adrian, where he explained what he was going to do to bring my hair back to life, I had tears of joy when I saw the finished product. I finally found a talented colorist and stylist in San Francisco! So ladies, I recommend him 100%. Not to mention it's incredibly easy to make online appointments or appointments by phone through his 24/7 call center.

When you go to a hairstylist like Adrian, you become suddenly aware of how the truly talented cosmetologists combine a high knowledge and talent of chemistry and artistry relating to hair. Adrian is a combination of a scientist and artist. He actually wholeheartedly listens to your suggestions, doesn't just pretend like a lot of stylists who then go ahead and do whatever they'd like (often to dissapointingly disastrous results), and takes you through the process and technique he envisions before he begins. Adrian makes sure you are on the exact same page and then explains the pros and cons of different techniques and color lines. He is on the cutting edge of the learning curve when it comes to all products and new techniques. You can immediately see his passion and enthusiasm for what he does and is clearly a perfectionist. On top of that, he is just a genuinely very nice person. I've been searching for years for the perfect stylist, I've been to all the top salons in San Francisco, and I am so glad I am finally happy with my hair - as I am a perfectionist myself. I've been to him several times now and am so happy. I'll stop gushing now, but my hair is so awesome! Just go and see Adrian! I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Adrian is a cut and color genius. I get compliments wherever I go - seriously, people stop me on the street all the time to tell me how striking my haircolor is. And Adrian is so pleasant to work with. He's gotten to know my tastes and my personal style so well. Whenever he's had suggestions for changes, I'm happy to experiment - I trust him implicitly, and he's never steered me wrong.

Adrian is the best in San Fran. I moved here about a year ago after college and bounced around trying to find somewhere to get my hair done and I am really happy I found Adrian. I've been looking for a new stylist for many months and am so happy I found Adrian! He listened intently to what I was looking for and really spent a lot of time talking through the cut and sharing his ideas before he began. My hair cut is exactly what I wanted! I came in for color the following week and am excited about the results. Again, he talked through with me the aspects of my current color that I liked, what changes I was interested in making, and helped come up with a great new color that I love. In all, I couldn't be happier with the service or the results.

Adrian is a true professional. I found him on citysearch after reading all the great reviews, and they were right. Adrian really understands color and face structure and works with me to find the best options. He is always keeping up on the latest products and carefully explains their pros and cons. Adrian is a color, cut and style master. I have the craziest head of thick, wavy hair- a challenge to even the most talented stylist. I just recently left a long relationship with a hair stylist to try out Adrian when he was at Headlights in Hayes Valley. I have problem hair-fine,thinning w/ some wave. Since I've found Adrian, my hair is healthy and looks its best. Adrian is attentive. He asks for feedback & can execute a plan. I've only been seeing Adrian for haircuts/color for a few months - but he has made me so happy. His color advice is spot on - he knows how to listen and gently guide you to the right color. Adrian is a terrific colorist and a sweetheart of a guy. He uses beautiful schwartzkopf colors and is very creative with them. He really listens to what you want and takes the time to figure out how to make you look your best. Adrian is tres fantastique! He uses the best color products I have ever used on my somewhat stubbprm mane. He really knows his stuff and I am so happy I found him. He is definitely collaborative & creative in his approach, which I find very enjoyable. I feel very fortunate to have found him .. The salon is nice too.. low key with great open natural light. I totally trust him.

I absolutely LOVE my hair!!! After a year of searching through the sea of SF salons for someone I can trust, but who can bring solid advice to the table....I have found it in Adrian!!! He is more than a hair designer....he is a chemist! He loves the chemistry of color more than any stylist I have ever met----and I have had my hair done by Bumble & Bumble NY, B2V in LA, Sebastian in LA, Garon in NY and Diapetro Todd in SF. I consider myself an expert consumer in hair! He takes small risks that make a big difference. I recommended him to my roomate and we both feel so good about our hair! He went a little darker than we expected on both of us....so bewarer of that. But, it is so worth it! Darker is something I would have never thought would have looked good and I feel my hair is the best it has looked in years. He uses very safe and vibrant colors----colors you do not find colorists in SF using often because they are expensive for him to purchase! No Wella here folks! He uses color from Schwarzkopf who create some of the richest and interesting shades I have ever seen. Plus, he is not overly expensive....ok, he is not cheap....but at least you get what you pay for and more with Adrian! I love him!

Adrian knows his coloring!! I had my first colorwork done since I was 13. Turning 55 I thought it was high time to get a lift (without surgery!). I was drab blond with the onset of gray. All I knew was that I hoped to have a perked up look. Adrian instinctively knew what I needed and gave me exactly the look that I wanted. Nothing drastic just younger, healthier and livelier looking hair. I will return!

I chose Adrian after reading his reviews here and visiting his web site (His online booking is genius.) Once I was in his chair, he listened carefully and offered creative ideas for a whole new look that I never could have imagined. I cant describe what he did but now the highlights and color show through from under my dark hair, and there are no roots to watch grow out! He has done several different colors on my hair and no matter if it is Paris Hilton blonde or some low lights - he does such an amazing job and I am never dissapointed. I've been going to see Adrian for about a year now, and he does a fabulous job all the time. He toned down my former white/blonde hair to something close to its natural color, and I couldn't be happier w/the results. Someone who really knows how to cut wavy hair! I found Adrian on City Search. I was looking for someone to cut my wavy hair without have to pay the high prices I had been paying. From the start, I loved the ease of making my appointment using his website, and getting the confirmation by email. I showed up on time, but unfortunately he was running late that day. He offered me a glass of wine, which I enjoyed while I waited. It was so worth the wait! He patiently asked me about what I wanted, listened, offered suggestions, and proceeded to give me the best hair cut I have had in months. It is now over a month since that cut, and it still looks fantastic. I would highly recommend Adrian to anyone with difficult hair.

I went to Adrian with a picture of a hairstyle that I wanted to get. He took a lot of time to go over the pictures and discuss with me the possibilities and also suggest what he thinks would work well with my face shape and hair texture. He was mindful that I wanted to have a cut that I could let airdry and would still look good. I decided to take most of his suggestions and he did a wonderful job! Definitely schedule an appointment with Adrian. I went from long to short and he did an awesome job of listening to what I wanted from the cut, my lifestyle, and over-all hair problems. Adrian is a true talent. I stumbled into a salon nearly seven years ago where Adrian was cutting hair. At the time I'd been jumping from high-end salon to high-end salon trying to find a great fit. Even though I'm a guy with short hair you'd be amazed at how particular I can be. From the minute I sat down in Adrian's chair I had a good feeling. Adrian and I have always worked cooperatively on creating my styles. From funky to conservative he's taken my hair there in good taste. Adrian has been my colorist and stylist for approximately four years. My loyalty to him is a direct result of his professionalism and attention to detail. Before my experiences with Adrian, I often found my hair color to be unnatural looking and an obvious result of coloring. Adrian's expert technique has resulted in a natural color that adds to my cut rather that detracts from it. Speaking of cuts, my fine hair requires a lot of texturizing and Adrian, being a perfectionist, takes the time to ensure that the cut adds body and style to my hair. Adrian's relaxed personality also makes you feel at ease during the whole process. It is difficult for me to make calls during my busy days, so I like being able to do this at night online, and to see his openings and compare them with my schedule.

Ive been getting my hair cut by Adrian ever since I moved to the City. He consistently does a great job. He listens and interprets my vague ideas and produces a great cut every time. Ive been going to Adrian for over a year and, in my life, Ive never had better, more consistent haircuts. Hes a skilled artist with the scissors, very knowledgeable, and an extremely nice guy. Professional and serious, while relaxed at the same time. Ive watched him approach every cut with a fresh perspective. His studio is in a funky, extremely comfortable space, which is quite comfortable and completely unpretentious. Highly Recommended.
