A rectangular or oblong face shape is long and slender, about the same width at forehead and just below cheekbones. Oblong facial shapes may have a very narrow chin or a very high forehead.

Oblong

To create width, try short to medium lengths, above the shoulders,with fullness and color accents at the sides of your face. Layers work great, and a soft wispy fringe will shorten the appearance of the length. With a side part, you may be able to wear your hair straight back.

Avoid too much hair length, center parts, and height because these elements will make your face look longer.
