I specialize in cutting and coloring equally. I use color to enhance the expressiveness of my cuts, as skillful color placement can emphasize proportion, draw attention to great features, and make the style more visually dynamic as it moves. My technique evolves through regular advanced education in both cutting and coloring outside the salon, and through daily creative inspiration that comes from working with my clients.

I have always fully embraced the Vidal Sassoon Method to hair design and “wash and wear” philosophy of styling. I learned this method at the beginning of my career in 1986, and have since earned 6 Vidal Sassoon Global Education Diplomas.
Three diplomas are in color, including the most comprehensive training available for colorists. My color training also includes classes from Schwarzkopf Professional, Goldwell, and Aveda.
In addition to hairdressing, I have been passionate about photography since I was a teenager and am having a blast creating before and after images for the homepage of this web site. I have participated in 3 art shows including San Francisco Open Studios. I studied design formally at the college level, and have a BS degree in Human Services, from which I have honed very useful communication and listening skills.
